Barenia leather is a smooth, supple calfskin originally developed for saddles and now highly prized in luxury handbags. Known for its velvety feel and subtle sheen, it develops a rich patina over time, giving each piece a unique character. Unlike many delicate leathers, Barenia is both soft and durable, with natural oils that help resist water and scratches. Its ability to age gracefully while maintaining strength makes it especially coveted by collectors who appreciate a timeless, lived-in elegance.

The handbag has been constructed entirely by hand, utilising ancient leather-craft techniques. Panels of leather are cut by hand from a paper pattern, and then connected by saddle stitching, where artisans use two blunt needles to stitch everything together by hand. Exposed leather edges are then painted by hand to seal and protect the leather. This provides for superior durability and beauty, as artisans are not rushed and ensure each step is completed to perfection. 

Our hardware has been specially produced for us in stainless steel and 18K gold coating, ensuring its longevity and aesthetics even after years of use.
