The handbag has been constructed entirely by hand, utilising ancient leather-craft techniques. Panels of leather are cut by hand from a paper pattern, and then connected by saddle stitching, where artisans use two blunt needles to stitch everything together by hand. Exposed leather edges are then painted by hand to seal and protect the leather. This provides for superior durability and beauty, as artisans are not rushed and ensure each step is completed to perfection. 

Togo leather is one of Hermès’ most popular leathers for handbags because of its durability and refined texture. It is made from calfskin and is instantly recognisable by its soft, pebbled grain, which resists scratches and helps the bag keep its shape over time.
